Ridgeback Estate Coffee
Challenging my disdain for Australian-grown coffee again, I have the chance to chance to roast up some promising beans from Ridgeback Estate in far north Queensland.
The description is promising and the sample roast looks good…
Nez du Cafe
Reading Michelle’s coffee blog the other day, she mentioned that her husband had given her a Nez du Cafe kit, and how this had helped develop her coffee cupping skills.
It reminded me of a couple of stimulating Saturday afternoons spent at Hazel’s cafe with a bunch other coffee geeks…
Amazing Africa
Too much coffee is never enough!
Two new beans arrive this week from Africa – the home of the most exciting and wild coffee…
Toothpaste and coffee
I wonder if they will ever invent a coffee-friendly toothpaste?
Sulawesi Kalosi Toraja
A bag of Sulawesi Toraja from the Sulotco plantation has found it’s way into the Ministry Grounds beanery, and has proved to be a very pleasant New Year’s diversion.
This coffee shows a departure from what you would normally expect from an Indonesian – but in the nicest possible way.
And the nice thing is, we know where the money is going!
Rwanda - land of a thousand hills
The Rwanda AA Bourbon is proving to be an intriguing coffee. Probably because I know little about the central African country (other than what came out during the tragic civil war of the early 90’s).
But Rwanda – known as the ‘land of a thousand hills’ – has huge potential as a coffee growing nation, that is clearly just starting to bear fruit (pardon the pun).
Honduras Organic SHG 'La Labor'
This is just another one of those very special coffees that you happen across every so often…
In amongst the avalanche of lovely Central American coffees in the last month or two, comes this offering from Honduras…
New beans - September 2007
There is a load of fine Central and South American beans either en route to Australia or have just arrived. I plan on buying up a number of them, and these are the first two:
