Rwanda - land of a thousand hills

The Rwanda AA Bourbon is proving to be an intriguing coffee. Probably because I know little about the central African country (other than what came out during the tragic civil war of the early 90’s).
But Rwanda – known as the ‘land of a thousand hills’ – has huge potential as a coffee growing nation, that is clearly just starting to bear fruit (pardon the pun).

With the return of my much-missed espresso machine, I got around to tasting a number of beans that I’ve been roasting up, but only tasting as plunger for the last three weeks.

Yeman Mocca Mattari

This is a rare coffee from the tiny nation of Yemen. This bag was from the new crop (2005), which is just stunning.
