July arrival Special Reserve coffees
Just a quick heads up on what’s in the next ‘Special Reserve’ Mercanta shipment due at Ministry Grounds mid-late July:
Brazil Fazendfa Cafundo Pulped natural (micro lot)
Bright grape acidity, medium body, notes of cane sugar and
caramel, very smooth and rounded mouth feel
Brazil Fazenda Inglaterra/Toca de Onca
Big fig fruit with full body and sweet acidity. Half processed using the natural method and other half processed using natural method. Produces variety of flavours that is unusual and complex.
Columbia Viota Cundinamarca
Clean,sweet, consistent coffee with pleasant acidity. From a
single estate (very unusual for Columbia) located in Botaga
near capital.
El Savlador Finca La Fany
The best El Salvador coffee Mercanta has to offer. Bright, juicy with pleasant acidity. Very sweet with honey and caramel notes, creamy, great mouth feel, great espresso and filter.
Guatemala Las Nubes
Acidity, body lemon smooth, with red berry notes. Beautifully
prepared. Consistent.
Tanzania Blackburn Estate
Small micro lot from Ngoorogoro Tanzania. Notes of plum peaches and stone fruit. A pleasant winey acidity complemented by a rich sweetness. Vibrant mouth feel, elegant and long aftertaste.
Indonesia Sumatra Takengon G1
Liquorice, dark sugar, weighty figgy. Clean with pleasant earthiness and complex with smoky tobacco notes. Low acidity and med – heavy body. Needs to be roasted a little bit darker
