El Salvador Cup of Excellence on the way...

I’m very excited to share that I’ve secured a bag of Lot 30 from the recent El Salvador Cup of Excellence auction! This will be one of two bags only of this Lot to come to Australia.

Coming through the Mercanta channel, Lot 30 is described thus:
“Mercanta team of COE judges cupped it and 5 out of 5 of the cuppers had it in their top 5. Pacamara/bourbon mix. Chocolate, honey, sweet. Citric acidity with notes of tangerine and orange. Bright and juicy, with full body and clean profile.”

The lot is from the farm: Los Planes – Lote La Lagunita, farmed by Sergio Edmundo Ticas Reyes. More information about the farm and the coffee is here

While this isn’t from the top five coffees in the final judging, the Mercanta cuppers are no slouches themselves, with many being ex-CoE judges.

The prices paid at the auctions were not especially high, which means that the coffee this end will be quite affordable. It will arrive here around August or September…
